Stretched Canvas Previews
August 24th, 2008
Stretched canvases have become very popular on FineArtAmerica.com. In order to help members sell their artwork in this configuration, we have just released a new feature which can automatically display any flat image as a beautifully stretched canvas. Here is another
example.
To view your artwork as a stretched canvas, simply visit one of your artwork pages and click on the link that says "Stretched" underneath "Buy a Giclee Print". Note - this feature is available only to print-on-demand members.
There is simply no better way to "try before you buy" and encourage visitors to purchase your prints!
Free Print on Demand Trial Period
August 10th, 2008
To celebrate the one year anniversary of the
print on demand program, we are offering a free preview of the program to all non-POD members. Starting now and running through September 15th, you can order prints of your
own artwork, regardless of whether or not you're participating in the print-on-demand program.
Have you ever wondered what your artwork would look like as a beautiful print? Now you can find out.
Simply login to your account, click on any one of your images, and you'll see a special promotional link which allows you to order the image as a print. Note - the special promotional link is only visible to members who are not currently enrolled in print-on-demand. POD members have always been able to purchase their own artwork and do not need a special link.
You can order your prints on paper or canvas and choose to have them framed, matted, and/or stretched on canvas, if desired.
Print on Demand Sample Kits
August 3rd, 2008
To help you choose the perfect paper or canvas for your next order, we'll send you our paper/canvas sample kit - for only $5.00!
Sample kits include seven papers and two canvases. Each paper and canvas is printed with a full-color fine art image and a black & white photographic image. Preview the gorgeous colors and clarity of our giclee prints, and observe how each paper takes its inks.
Hold them. Feel them. Study them under a microscope. Get to know them! Each of our museum-quality papers has its own unique properties, and each one will contribute something different to your print.

Secure, Full-Resolution Previews
March 15th, 2008
Fine Art America is dedicated to helping artists and art galleries sell fine art originals and prints online.
In order to make it easier for art collectors to make buying decisions regarding artwork that they can't physically hold and inspect, Fine Art America has developed a
unique technology which allows collectors to "zoom in" and view full-resolution previews of any image on our site. To see a live demonstration, click here.
This feature has the dual benefits of allowing collectors to take a closer at an image while still protecting the image from theft.
For any image, such as the Lincoln Memorial image on the right, previews are available in square sections which cover the image in a checkerboard pattern. Previews are only available for
50% of those sections. Think of it this way - if you were to lay a checkerboard over the image, you could view full-resolution previews by looking through white squares, but the black squares would be off limits. By only offering high-resolution previews for 50% of the image, it is
impossible for the high-resolution image to be illegally copied. In addition, each of the full-resolution previews contains a Fine Art America watermark which further complicates theft.
Watermarks
March 15th, 2008
For those artists that are interested in complete image protection, you can now watermark your low-resolution images!
This is an optional feature which can be turned ON and OFF on an image by image basis.
It is our opinion that watermarks typically discourage sales, and therefore, we discourage watermarks. However, the final decision is up to the artist.

Recent Print Sales
January 11th, 2008
Sold on January 11th to a buyer in Rumford, Rhode Island (United States)
It seems to be quite popular to discuss "who is selling" and "what is selling" on FineArtAmerica.com. Our
discussion pages are always active with posts regarding those two topics. In response to this persistent curiousity, we've created a new page which displays a partial list of recently sold prints!
The page is located
here and can be accessed anytime by clicking on Artwork -> Recently Sold Print in our navigation menu.
The page will display a random selection of prints which have sold within the past month. We will only be showing prints which have NOT been purchased by their owner. You can see where the artwork was purchase from and how the buyer configured the purchase (i.e. paper vs. canvas, frame, mat, etc.).
This is a great way to get a glimpse of what's selling and, should you chose to contact them, to learn from the artists that are having sales success!
