I work out of my home studio crafting karat gold, fine silver and sterling silver jewelry using gemstone beads and lampwork glass beads. The beads determine the design and not the other way around. Very often a set of beads will sit for weeks until it decides what it wants to be - they can't be forced into a design, they're born of fire and have their own personalities and to constrain them within designs not created for them is to diminish them.
