A Start from the Beginning

Blog? Who blogs - most people it seems but me. I just learned, while doing a little blog research, that blog is short for "weblog". I had no idea where the word came from, but keep in mind I'm someone who doesn't own a single "i" gadget. What should I say in my first blog post? I have actually been thinking about what to say for a couple of days now, but I still haven't come up with much. No personal history, no political rants, not too much opinion, but since this is a blog originating on a fine art site, I suppose I should say something about my art - my craft.

I photograph. Not for a living but for fun - paralegal by day, photographer on the weekends. I can't think of a better way to get myself outdoors and into the natural world than through photography. Move away from the four walls and move into the great outdoors because, you see, I consider myself an outdoor photographer but that doesn't mean I only shoot nature. I can be found in abandoned buildings, barns, cities, and old car junk yards, but I'm outside for the most part. You will see an eclectic mix in my galleries from the close-up details of graffiti, old paint and rust to landscapes, plants and wildlife. Some photographs are color, and some are black and white. A few have artistic filters applied to them. Keeping my eyes open for the right light, right composition, or the right details that attract my attention, I will give you a view of the world around me and how I see it.
