There’s a lot of information out there on how to sell art on Instagram, with complex instructions. These two young developers simply created a super-easy way to do it.

I recently found out about Spreesy, a new website launched about a month ago by Spencer Costanzo and Braydon Batungbacal that literally makes your Instagram posts shoppable in one step. What a smart concept! It takes about 5 minutes to get started.

Spreesy is super simple – all you need to do is post your art on Instagram, add a description, the quantity, a price, and Spreesy handles the rest. Your followers can purchase products from Spreesy-enabled Instagram posts by simply commenting with their email address. You can get started immediately selling as many pieces of your work as you like.

“Instagram is a visual network at its core, so it especially lends itself to handmade makers and artists. We love creative sellers, and we’ve worked hard to optimize Spreesy for them,” explains Batungbacal.

And the results? Several recent Spreesy users have actually made sales very quickly.

“Recently, a handmade seller with just 150 followers made three sales within their first day using Spreesy,” adds Costanzo. “On the same day, a larger seller made $1,800 from their first Spreesy-enabled post. We find that selling consistently hinges on how engaged your followers are, and that the actual number of followers doesn’t matter as much as you’d expect.”
