Bob Thomas - Painting and Poem

Peter delights in creating a fusion of paintings and poems which he personally produces as archival quality, signed Giclée prints. He has included in his 'Good Time Jazz' gallery the original acrylic along with the giclée print which includes the poem. Only the print is for sale. This is the first in the series of Peter's jazz portraits and poems. Do visit his website to discover more about his passion for art and verse.

Following is the poem inspired by this portrait:

Bob Thomas at The Long Arm and Short Arm

Jazz on the Island,
Jazz in the Inn,
Lemsford's own Satchmo
On trumpet in full swing.
Fans take the long view,
Dismissive of the short,
Backing the Thom Cats
With total support.

A Certificate of Authentication accompanies each print explaining the inspiration for this work: A portrait of our very own village “Satchmo”, Bob Thomas of "Bob Thomas and The Thomcats" fame, aimed at keeping jazz alive at the Long and the Short Arm in Lemsford, Hertfordshire, where fans enjoy the Thomcats’ monthly gigs.
