I need to know how essential college is to the adverage person's life style...because since I moved in with my grandparents I feel as though everyone has been pushing me farther and farther to go to college, and I don't even have an idea of what I want to study! Notice how I say "I want"? Well I feel as though it isn't about what I WANT, it seems like more to the point of what people EXPECT me to do with my life. Yeah I want to make an honest living for myself...but at the same time I want to be happy. I don't want to be a scientist because that's what people say I should be, or become a teacher because that's what people expect me to become...nobody knows me better than...well, me. So with that case being closed...does anyone have advice for me on what I should tell my grandparents? I want to be free to make my own decisions...since the fact that I'm about to be a Junior in high school, I don't need anyone following me around and reminding me of what the world is like! Because I know!
