Consuming Segments

Oh! How exceedingly vain we are as human beings! We want to believe that we are the ones who determine what happens to us, how it happens, when it will happen, where it will happen and in the precise manner in which it was planned to happen. Not so! Especially in our relationships: we are masterful (or so we think) in our conniving ways to achieve our predesigned methods of holding onto to the other. But, to our utter amazement and confusion, things fall completely apart in spite of our best efforts to control. All of our tedious and meticulous planning and striving is self-serving but the universe does not give a rat's ass about our particular personal time table. When something is over, finished, done; we are to pick up our marbles and go home.
