The Faces Project
Artists in The Faces Project paint a portrait of a child who was killed by gun violence. These portraits are donated to the victim's family. These children are not just numbers or statistics. Each one of them was a life ended. Each one has a face. The Faces Project works with victims' advocacy groups to bring you this powerful exhibit on May 9, 2013 at Soulard Art Market from 6 to 9pm.
The Faces Project was started by Christine Ilewski after she received a phone call telling her that a close friend, Father Lorenzo Rosebaugh, had been gunned down in Guatemala. Lorenzo was dearly revered by children and had just buried two young teens, victims of gun violence. The focus of the project is to protest the unacceptable number of young lives lost to gun violence. One is too many.
