This icons inception was the initiation of the US war against Iraq, March, 2003. Fear and national security led us into conflict. May prayer and faith cause it to cease. St. Michael is the patron of soldiers, sailors, police, EMT’s, the dying, and support against temptations, to name a few. It was suggested that soldiers in this Iraqi conflict would like to have St. Michael on their person. This icon is offered with that intent. The key to St. Michaels involvement in this world at this time is that devotion to him is common in all three major religions currently involved in conflicts; Christianity, Islam and Jew. May he intercede for us to our Heavenly Father, and bring us peace.

Prayer:
St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray, and do, O Prince of the Heavenly Host, by the power of God, cast into Hell Satan and all the evil spirits who prowl throughout the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.
