Taco Pie (Janis Carmichael)
2 cups crushed tortilla chips – separated
1 can crescent rolls
1 lb. ground chuck
1 package taco seasoning mix ( I use Taco Bell)
1 8 oz. carton sour cream
About 1-1/2 cups shredded Cheddar Cheese
Line a pie pan with the crescent rolls to form a pie crust – seal the seams together. Pour 1 cup crushed tortilla chips over crescent roll
Pie crust and set aside.
Brown ground chuck; drain grease. Add taco seasoning and 2/3 cup water. Cook approx.. 5 minutes over medium heat. Pour mixture
Over crushed tortillas – smooth out.
Spread 8 oz. sour cream over meat mixture. Sprinkle 1-1/2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese over sour cream.
Sprinkle remaining crushed tortilla chips over cheese – covering completely.
Bake in 350 degree oven for 30-35 minutes. Let taco pie set for 5 minutes before cutting.
Serve with shredded lettuce, chopped onions and salsa.
