Contest Rules

Geekdom and Comic-Con
Have you ever been to Comic-Con? If you have, then you belong in this contest.

Any art medium accepted except photos unless they are drastically digitally altered. All work must be your own! You can't submit digitally altered photos of someone else's work! (I just deleted some images where that was the case.)

Superheroes, sci-fi, comic-book, video-game related--anything you might see at Comic-Con...

Original characters or 'fan' art of comic books, TV, movies, that would be at Comic-Con.

Also original sci-fi, UFO, aliens, wormholes, futuristic, future tech, computer-related art. All kinds of geek fun in the form of art!

The top three winners will be featured in an article in the art section of Pop Culture Today http://www.popculturetoday.us

NEW INFO: in addition to this being a voted contest, it will also be a juried contest (by me!) so even if you don't win, I still may feature your work in Pop Culture Today!

You can upload up to 10 images, but it's better to be picky and upload only your best!

Just added: I sent this out to the participants, please read before submitting thanks:

Thanks so much for submitting! There have been a lot of great submissions, but unfortunately many do not fit the subject matter. Since there are actual 'prizes,' being featured in Pop Culture Today online magazine, (http://www.popculturetoday.us) I'm looking for a very specific genre of art. I'm going to have to delete some great work because they are so good, they could win, but it wouldn't fit the genre so unfortunately I'm going to have to delete them from the contest. Please Google comic-book sites or some blog sites with the word 'geek' or comic book in it. Google Aspen comics, they have some amazing art, or DC Comics or Marvel or watch the 'Big Bang Theory' for inspiration. Google'comic book art'

They should include a character, a creature, robot, alien, dragon, whatever. It can be your own invented character, a superhero, sci-fi, fantasy or an existing one. They don't have to have a comic book look, it could be a watercolor of Wonder Woman or a an acrylic of a robot or alien but please keep it in the genre. No abstracts.

Thanks, and I apologize to anyone whose work was deleted from this contest. Some of it was just beautiful but just not right for this contest.

Best,

Alicia
