Contest Rules

Introducing Artists Contest What is this contest for?

On January 4th 2015 I will be launching http//introducingartists.com in which I will select an artist a week (that’s just 52 a year) to cover and help promote.

Each week will have the following schedule

Sunday - An interview with the artist including either a picture of them or of one of their works and information on how the artist can be contacted

Monday - Friday - each day a different one of the artists works will be featured. The artist will have the option of having me write out a short 300 - 500 word review for the piece or of writing it themselves as a guest blogger

The artist may want to consider having coupon codes made up for those particular works

Saturday - If the artist has one available a video post to a YouTube video displaying more of their work. Otherwise it will be treated just like Monday-Friday

No my blog isn\'t famous (yet) and no I can’t afford to pay you - however I can give you a little free PR.

Besides featuring them on my blog I will also be promoting the work of the artist via social media

All pictures will either be reduced or cropped down to 250 px x 250 px and slightly lessened in quality (this makes them less of a load on my site and less of a temptation for thieves who want the very best they can steal). This can easily be done by the artist. If they don’t know how I can guide them.

What can be entered?

The contest is open to any 2D art work featured here at FAA and is available for sale by print.

However

I want to see you VERY BEST work. Show me the pieces you dream about seeing in museums and galleries. I am looking for art for the sake of art

All entries must be safe for work

The artist must be at least 13 years of age or older

What will automatically be disqualified?

Any works that include the following

celebrities or politicians
Trademarks or Logos
recognizable children under the age of 18
nude or partially nude figures
belligerent or offensive works
Anything that was not originally your work in the first place (ie don’t take a picture out of the public domain and try to claim it - even if you alter it slightly I won’t accept it)
Anything with a sexual theme
Anything racist, sexist etc
Anything that could be seen as an advertisement for or against any organization, race, religion, company etc.

Thank you - due to certain laws I cannot allow any work including any of the above to be seen on my website.

Entering

Please enter seven of your very best 2D works following the guidelines above - also be considering your answers to the following questions - I will need the winners to answer them

For the Sunday interview.

Voting

Voting is open to all - guests and members but there is only one vote per person. When you vote for a picture you are voting for the artist behind it.

I reserve the right to select a different winner if the entered works of the artist selected do not fit into the guidelines I have set for my blog.

2st place winner will be promoted on my blog from 1/11/2015 - 1/17/2015
3st place winner will be promoted on my blog from 1/18/2015 - 1/24/2015
