Casa Navarro State Historic Site Supports Local Artists
San Antonio, TX –Local artist from the San Antonio Art Meetup group Richard Brooks will hang works in the Casa Navarro State Historic Site Museum for the month of November. The Casa Navarro State Historic Site will feature a new artist each month from the San Antonio Art Meetup group.
Art Opening for Richard Brooks is November 1, 2009, 1:30pm-3:30pm at Casa Navarro State Historic Site, 228 South Laredo, San Antonio, TX
Richard Brooks began his art career in 1972 selling his works in small art shows. He works in oil, acrylic, watercolor and ink. His subjects range from wildlife to landscapes. Visit Richard’s web page: http://www.richardbrooksfinearts.bravehost.com
Casa Navarro is one of the 20 historic sites operated by the Texas Historical Commission. Located in the heart of downtown San Antonio, the site tells the story of Jose Antonio Navarro with period furnishings and personal mementos in his original 1850s adobe and limestone home site. The site is open Tuesday-Sunday,, 9am-4pm. The museum will be open for self guided tours during art event. Free Entrance. http://www.visitcasanavarro.com
The San Antonio Art Meet-Up started in April 2007 to bring together those who love art. Since then, the group has grown to over two hundred members. The group strives to help artists to grow, learn and show their works. The artists paint live with a theme at all their art shows.
