Paint, brush and canvas, the traditional illustrative art tools are now competing with modern technology. Digital art as known today, is the vogue option for illustrative artists in Ghana. Ian Quhachi popularly known for his graffiti murals is gradually catching favorable attention for his creativity in the arts and cultural space in Ghana. His efforts have been appreciated and featured in the biggest street art festival in Ghana such as the Chale Wote street art festival in James Town. Ian has also done collaborative works with Brazilian graffiti artistes Binho Ribeiro and Alexandre Keto.
Ian is now ready to exhibit his skills in the digital world by solely showing his works curated by Magdalene Williams at the Frebe mall in Takoradi on Friday 25th April 2014. Picking random ideas from different topics and cultures is what brings the uniqness to his various traditional techniques to express a wide range of unconnected ideas. Twenty of his recent works on canvas-on-board will be exhibited and sold whilst a hundred older works will be in paper or photo prints.
