Home Work: Domestic Narratives in Contemporary Art

Home Work is an invitational exhibition curated by Edie Carpenter featuring 28 artists from North Carolina who each depict domestic life in their work. The exhibition will be the first of the new season, opening to the general public on September 14, 2012. A private member's only opening reception will be held Thursday, September 13, from 5:30-7:30 PM. Focusing on the themes of repose, nourishment, pastimes and chores, this exhibition will examine artists’ depictions of everyday life as explored in sculpture, installations, paintings, printmaking, photography, video and artist books.

House Warming, a Downtown Greensboro First Friday event, will be on October 5th, from 6:00 – 9:00pm. House Warming is a free evening of hands-on art projects and is part of United Art’s Councils 17 Days, a festival celebrating Greensboro\'s music, art, dance, and theatre. House Warming will be a fun-filled evening, intertwining the visual and performing arts.
