Sakiko Ichikawa solo exhibition The fragment of memory
Sakiko Ichikawa: Between the lines
After traveling to many different places, she came to realize the beauty in her own culture; traditional Japanese culture. She favors wood block prints the most and it is a common technique used since long time ago in Japan, such as Ukiyo-e. By using the technique of wood block prints that she truly appreciates, she presents the sensitivity of seasonal changes in Japan; the feeling of itch, doze or the smell you get in between the seasons. You might get a hold of image when you imagine the smell right before the first snow in winter. Looking at her pieces calms the mind and makes us step aside from the busy daily routine for a brief moment.
Come enjoy art at a home-like gallery; Ouchi Gallery!
