Batiking is an ancient art form. The techneque of batiking is enjoyed by many because of its textured design and interesting color variations. Watercolor batik paintings are created on paper as well as fabric. In the application process, wax is used as a resist to mask the watercolor paint. Layers of paint and wax are added to a composition. Batiking is not meant to be an exact science, so unintentional drips of wax and oozing paint color can create a masterpiece. Believe it or not, the unexpected creativity adds to your work.
Classes are conducted on Tuesday evenings. The price is $50.00 for one five hour session.
