Description:

After seeing Van Gogh's Iris I was inspired to paint this elegant flower. The Iris has long been a favorite of watercolor artists due to it's distinctive shape. Painting translucent flowers in oil is a challengeing task. The warm orange/yellow background makes the Iris jump from the picture and adds a heartwarming feeling to the painting.
