Description:

Demeter is an early goddess sometimes known as The Great Mother. She was a wise and determined archetype, very responsible and a 'multi- tasker' as we'd say today. Demeter is responsible for earth's fertility, abundance, and the harvest. Doves, scarlet poppies, grain, and the double headed axe were all connected with her, as were light ales brewed during the harvest time. I was thinking of the people of ancient Crete, and the later Greeks and Celts. I've incorporated symbols they'd recognize as sacred to the Great Mother.
