Description:

Ghost Wolf was first sighted in 1915 in the Judith Basin. By 1920 the wolf turned outlaw and began pulling down cattle, sheep, and horses. The Associated Press began to run stories of the "Ghost Wolf of the Judith Basin", and the hunt for the Ghost Wolf began. The hunt was carried out on horseback, snowshoes, foot, automobile, and airplane, but to no avail. Finally in 1930 the hunt came to an end when Al Close, a rancher tracked down and shot the Ghost Wolf. The original pastel was created in 2007. It is on 140# acid-free paper, double matted, covered in non-glare glass, and framed.
