There's a lot to look at in this photograph. I love b&w when it's done right and this one is top notch. Beautiful image. Be proud!! F/L

Julie Dant replied:

Thanks Marion! I AM proud of this one. It's a frequent seller, so we both have an eye, huh? lol

Very nice indeed!

Julie Dant replied:

Thanks again, GD! This is one I am proud of. ;) I appreciate all your comments on my work. SoOOO nice of you. ;)

Lovely b&w work Julie!

Julie Dant replied:

Hi Veikko...thank you for looking at my gallery and letting me know you enjoyed this one. It is one of my personal favorites, too. ;)

Julie, I really like this old rustic shot. Makes me want to kick my feet up and take a seat on that porch. Great image. Voted.

Julie Dant replied:

Hey Jeff! Thanks for your fine comments! That's always the way I feel with these old rustic shots! ;0)

Love the old timbers. Lots of character to this one Julie.

Julie Dant replied:

Thank you Bill! I did too! ;0)

This image reminds me of my Grandparents on their back porch. I am drawn to this shot for much the same reason that you took it. Great composition, tone and texture. Thanks for sharing. Fav,

Julie Dant replied:

Yes. I am also drawn to it because it reminds me of my great Grandparent's back porch. All my nostalgic work stems from my childhood visits to their old farm. The house was exactly as it would have been in the first decade of the 20th century. The only modern convenience was electricity. All other things were done as the pioneers did them. I feel sooo fortunate to have been able to experience it! ;0) Thank you !

I think of long gone family with this image......I smile to myself 'Long gone but not forgotten'. Now that's what Art is supposed to do! v/fav

Julie Dant replied:

Stuart, I am reminded even more strongly of how kind and thorough you are in your comments...always so well thought-out. Thank you so much for knowing just how to make a fellow artist feel wonderful about their work. ;0)

What a nice pic, and the composition and nostalgia from the B&W pics!

Julie Dant replied:

Thank you very much, Asuncion!! I do appreciate you looking at and commenting upon so many of my works!!! ;0))

Great image - conjuring up all kinds of inspiration... well done! (voted)

Julie Dant replied:

:0) are a sweetheart! Thank you so much! ;0)

Julie, Just as you expressed a desire to paint, after looking at some of the good photography on FAA, I'm thinking of trading my paintbrushes for a good camera. I think I"m joking!!! Anyway, I do appreciate you stopping by, and it allowed me to look further into your artwork. Being from a small town in Georgia this is something I see a lot, but I never tire of it. I love this! v/f

Julie Dant replied:

Hi Glenda. Yes...I know exactly what how you are thinking. In all honesty, I LOVED to paint, although I was not taught except what I learned in High School and I was not very good at all..BUT...when I began taking photographs and was finding so many beautiful scenes to shoot, I kept thinking that one day I'd begin painting some of the scenes I'd taken a shot of...however...I do not have the time to devote to TWO passions and the photography is a little more lucrative. lol. But...I still haven't given up on the idea. The thing is....with can turn just a regular photo into art at the touch of a key almost, so if I can make one of my photos look "painted" or Artistic in some different and pleasing to myself way, then I'm all for it!! Anyway...good luck in what you do. I do so enjoy your subject matter, also, being from a small and rural community. Much of my interest in your subjects comes from my rural childhood memories. Thanks, Glenda!
