I've had a video for Right in Two rattling about in my brain ever since hearing it for the first time, and this is great inspiration. Keep up the good work and thank you for sharing your work online.

lol cool no i understand what you mean i also get alot of inspiration from tool aswell as red hot chilli peppers, pearl jam and soundgarden, nirvana, stone temple pilots but when drawing dream like states or life objects i love listening to dave matthews band... listen to me rattle on about music sorry, though music has always been a big part of my painting and hopefully when i become an art teacher i can play music in the classroom as i work but thats probely unlikely with how square and strict teaching rules are now sadly, but yer i looked at this painting and it was like all these thoughts buzzed into my head, like me you no the undeniable images and knowing of things that would send the average person crazy but im glad you can put it into your paintings so truthfully and wisely, im just so glad that there is such a thing as art or i just dont no how id explain or manifest the thoughts in my head as its best not to even try to explain it to people anyway il stop bugging you now seriously good artist and i hope you get very recognised for your painting and cant wait to see more tripped out art of yours by the way your art reminds me of pyramids i think you would come up with something pretty good that had to do with pyramids dunno just a random thought BYE BYE

Steve Griffith replied:

Ha. Pyramids. Interesting. I've sort of loosely used a pyramid once but I couldn't think of anything to do with it really. I'm still waiting to visit egypt, then maybe I'll decide what to put after feeling out the area. My paintings typically represent an idea I'm really interested with at that time. I took over a year to finish my last painting because it was huge yes, but also that I had no inspiration really. Btw, I love 90's music, so good list. When I paint a little voice in my head literally tells me what to do. One painting I was drawing a lot from my subconscious and ended up putting myself in a nice trance and I had to take a break. lol. It's all where you tap into man. I think this is why this style of art appeals to me. It's as much a meditation I guess as well communicating a concept that isn't easy to explain. Good luck on the art teacher goal thing. I could never commit to any school, fuck. I'm about to finish a painting, probably tonight hopefully, and then if I do it will be uploaded sometime tomorrow night I'm guessing. So check in and you may see it. Or i'll just fuckin message ya and let ya know. You seem to appreciate my paintings for what it is intened to do, so for that thanks, and also i have no doubt you'd like to see more. :)

Awsum!! i love this painting!! as soon as i saw it i thought of tool seriously, there music helps me with my art too, brings out all those twisted excentric ideas from deep inside its so amazing that so many people can think the same things and have the same outlook and ideas but only a handfull can put their interpretations onto a canvas and it be this remarkable as u can sense i really like it great job :-D

Steve Griffith replied:

Thanks. I feel like I could do an art piece for every song of theirs. My style is dark psychedelic, and kind of creepy and I get that a lot from their music. There's no love and light here with angels n shit, only the wrath of god!..or something. haha. :p

Hey, Steve! Great stuff. Without even seeing your description of the piece I knew you were paying homage to Tool's tune (which is great, btw). Congrats on the sale. -Sam
