Good eye! I used Michael as the model for the man, Gaussian blur to get the palette and digital tracing paper to paint. The model of the woman from the waist up is (mostly) a picture of a stranger I took on a cruise who I thought would make a good mermaid. The legs are mine but I couldn't get a good shot of my toes so I finally gave up on them. (I tried making a Victoria, one arm is hers, but in the long run it was just easier to combine photos and use the colors from Michael. The lighting doesn't match as well as I would like; it's still a bit too sunny on her, I think. )
