Vitamin K1 molecule. Computer model showing the structure of a molecule of vitamin K1, also called phylloquinone. Atoms are represented as spheres carbon (large, grey), hydrogen (small, grey) and oxygen (red). Vitamin K1 is an essential vitamin that is found in dark green leafy vegetables, meat, dairy products and eggs. It is necessary for blood clotting and bone growth. Deficiency can lead to uncontrolled internal bleeding, and mineral deposits on cartilage regions and on the inner walls of blood vessels.
