Sculpture - Bronze
Have you seen this original bronze anywhere? If so, you should call the police --and the artist. It was stolen from the artist's studio in 1985. One of Dawn's earliest bronzes, it represented many years and miles of searching the creek banks for tracks of wild animals who had come to drink during the night. She cast these tracks as a frame for her relief landscape featuring the rugged cliffs and mountains, the constellations, cottonwoods and chokecherry bushes of her Wyoming home. In this landscape a mule deer doe nuzzles her fawn while mallard ducks fly overhead, a family of mountain lions cuddles in their cave, coyotes howl, a raccoon and a skunk forage along the stream. See detail, following.
