Royal Blue Express
Painting - Acrylic
The Royal Blue Express is by far my most favorite painting I have ever Created, I needed to paint something really bad one day but I only had 3 colours of paint on hand, White blue and black, so I decided to Paint the Royal Hudson, or my version of the Royal Hudson, and because the painting is mostly all shades of blue, I named it the Royal Blue Express, I made the engineer waving as to make it a Friendly painting, I wanted to show that the train was climbing to the top of the mountain so I made the hills and grass look wintery, and its after midnight is why head lights are on, the painting is lit by the moon light, if you look just above the track in the bottom right hand corner you will see a bit of the frozen lake, The mountain behind the train Has no snow, and thats because its in the distance, it was another way to show the train was climbing to the top of the mountain, its all the small detail that makes a big difference, I have never been on a train especially a steam train, so I was not Shure about putting the steam coming out on the bottom on the tracks, but I made a huge mistake on the tracks so decided to add the steam only to cover up my mistake ahah, so just using 3 colors my idea was to make the painting look like it was at night time in the Winter, wanted it real chilly at the top of the mountain, and wanted the train and mountains lit up souly from the moon, I have never had art lessons so I was just experimenting, but when friends came over and seen it, they said wow cool Pj, love the blues, and the snow, people ask whose the man waving to at the top of a cold dark mountain, and I said hes waving to you, the person thats looking at the painting, so making different shades of blue just by using mostly white and a lill black sometimes I was able to make reflections and shadows, It was a Fun painting, took me 2 nights to paint it, and it was in the winter, then I wanted to add a number to my train but it was taking way too long to figure it out, so I used my Birthdate, lol, The man thats waving I named him Chip, so please feel free to wave back, and if your cold or hungry he will take you aboard The royal Blue Express, this train and Scenery was right out my creative mind and to me thats what makes this painting very special, at times when I was painting it I felt as if I was right there, Thanks for taking the time to read my story, Have a great day, / Chip///////
You may see many paintings and some digital and abstract art all of the same Royal Blue Express, But I must say, theres no repeats, each and every one is different, I recently got a new camera with more pixels then the older one I had so I took more pictures of this train and uploaded them, so theres a great variety to choose from, this picture here is the original one that I first took of the train, I have painted lots of trains since, most of them have Chip waving, haha but there one that I named Jacob the train, but thats a whole other story, But if you do look at Jacob the train and smile he the train will smile back, Take care, /////
