Swallow chicks. Two swallow (Hirundo rustica) chicks in their nest, calling for food. A breeding pair of swallows build a nest from mud and grass and line it with feathers. The female lays a clutch of 3 to 7 eggs, which both parents incubate until they hatch between 13 to 15 days later. Both parents feed the chicks, which remain in the nest for about 20 days. Swallows usually raise two broods of chicks during the summer. Photographed in the UK.
