Tara (Sanskrit: tara) or Arya Tara, also known as Jetsun Dolma in Tibetan Buddhism, is a female Bodhisattva in Mahayana Buddhism who appears as a female Buddha in Vajrayana Buddhism. She is known as the "mother of liberation", and represents the virtues of success in work and achievements. In Japan she is known as Tarani Bosatsu, and little-known as Tuoluo in Chinese Buddhism.
Tara is a tantric meditation deity whose practice is used by practitioners of the Tibetan branch of Vajrayana Buddhism to develop certain inner qualities and understand outer, inner and secret teachings about compassion and emptiness. Tara is actually the generic name for a set of Buddhas or bodhisattvas of similar aspect. These may more properly be understood as different aspects of the same quality, as bodhisattvas are often considered metaphoric for Buddhist virtues.
White Tara, also known for compassion, long life, healing and serenity; also known as The Wish-fulfilling Wheel, or Cintachakra as a mother does for her children.
One more fine contemporary thangka in my collection.
Please note that this thangka is not mounted in a traditional Tibetan silk brocade.
It will look great in a modern frame.
I also offer silk traditional brocade framing; the price range for the current size would be from $26 up to $75, depending on silk quality.
Just ask me about colors and quality.
Please allow 3 additional business days, if you request this service.
The brocade will add about 3.3 lbs (1,5 kg) of weight and the cost of shipping will be higher.
Please also note that the best silk available is usually heavier than standart one: it adds in general about 1.1 lbs (0.5 kg) of weight. If you would like to use this type of silk, please add about $7-10 (depending on a country) to the shipping rates below.
The estimate cost of shipping without silk brocade will be approximately $44 (US), $29 (UK), $35 (Australia), but please contact me to check the rate.
The estimate cost of shipping with silk brocade will be $65 (US), $53 (UK), $51 (Australia), $70 (Canada by DHL).
Please do allow about 4-10 business days for delivery, it will depend on chosen shipping service.
My goal is to be helpful to serious practitioners, who consider thangkas as an aid for practicing rather than just a beautiful exotic painting.
Please contact me if you:
- want to place a custom order for a thangka of any tantric deity (or/and in a particular style and/or painted with natural pigments). Usually it takes 2-5 months (depending on complexity) to finish such a thangka of an average size
- want to place an order for a copy of the old thangka, which you would like to have (I can't guarantee that your order will be accepted, it will depend on complexity of work. However, in most cases we accept such orders as well)
- are looking for a very big size fine Tibetan thangka for a buddhist center
- are looking for a unique expensive thangka of the highest quality (please specify which particular deity you're looking for)
- have doubt regarding a thangka you already bought somewhere (in that case I need a picture)
My recent feedbacks:
