Description
Shoulder anatomy. Artwork of an oblique left anterior view from above of muscles (red) and bones of the shoulder. At lower left is the pectoralis major muscle of the chest. At top is part of the trapezius muscle of the back. Both muscles attach to the collar bone (clavicle). At centre, the head of the pectoralis minor muscle attaches to the coracoid process as does the tendon (lower centre) of the short head of the biceps brachii muscle of the upper arm. At lower right is the head of the humerus (upper arm bone) with the long head tendon of the biceps passing over it and through the intertubercular groove. The attachment of the pectoralis major to the humerus is also seen.
