Description
Global warming. Computer artwork of landscape of dry, cracked mud caused by global warming. Global warming is the gradual rise in temperatures across the Earth due to a manmade greenhouse effect. The man-made greenhouse effect is caused by pollutants in the atmosphere, which decrease the amount of heat lost by the Earth into space. Global warming could disrupt worldwide weather patterns and cause severe drought in some areas. Other effects that are predicted are the melting of the ice caps (and consequent coastal flooding) and an increase in severe weather such as cold winters, hot summers, excess rain and flooding.
