Description
Here is the blossom from the Star Hibiscus. This is really a big flower, probably 6" or more across! Also called the Texas Star Hibiscus, or the Scarlet Rose Mallow. This is another shot from my backyard garden, showing the "gazing or garden" globe. The Hibiscus is surrounded by the "golden Thryallis shrub!
"Also known as the Scarlet Rose Mallow or Texas Star, the swamp hibiscus (Hibiscus coccineus) is native to the east coast of the U.S. It’s one of the most spectacular native plants, with incredible, large red flowers that naturally thrive in wetlands and ditches. This spring, try sowing some seeds for a spot of brilliant perennial color in your garden."
This image has a slight "painterly" effect that can best be seen using the "green box".
