Description
This is my 1969 Fender Telecaster. She's my "Pride and Joy" (thank you, Stevie Ray). I bought it in 1978 from a musician and although he altered the pickups it has, like a fine vintage wine, improved with age. I own and have owned several guitars but this one is my "Electric Ladyland" (thank you, Jimi).
This guitar is a collectors item, not only because of its fine playing action and, more importantly, its unique sound qualities, but because it was 100% made in the United States at the time. An All American piece of true workmanship.
The 'Piece de Resistance,' for me is Joe Walsh, one of thee' greatest guitarist of all time, autographed it for me during a lull with The Eagles back in '85. And Joe, God bless him, isn't very fond of autographing things, except (to his credit) for charities.
This image and all other images on my site are available on coffee mugs too!

Stunning image Rick!

What a beauty, fabulous! The right instrument is just bliss and inspiration... I was "raised" as more of a Gibson guy, but I was just thinking I should get my hands on some Strats and Teles, to at least understand the lure of the Dark Side :-)
Rick Maxwell replied:
Ha-Ha, welcome to the darkside, Alex! The day I bought this guitar it was a choice between the Telecaster or a Gibson SG hanging right along side of it. I'd played a friend's SG and loved it, though I ended up with this Tele. Though, either way I couldn't have gone wrong. Thanks for the interest, Alex. Keep on strumming! Aloha, Max

Great capture Rick. Very clear and love the lighting, it's perfect. Black background - excellent choice! Thanks for sharing your story. My husband plays the guitars, has a few, but there is one that is his pride and joy so I know what you mean. Nice work! l/v
Rick Maxwell replied:
Thank you, Emmy. I do love the accent the black background added to my pride and joy, of which your husband can attest! Cheers, Max

Rick Maxwell replied:
Thank you, Michael. I keep saying it but it's all true...This guitar is my pride and joy and has grown older along with me. The only difference (but BIG difference) between she and I is she keeps getting better with age. Cheers From The North Woods, Max
Ann Horn
Great photo on black, Rick. Stunning color and clarity. f/l
Rick Maxwell replied:
Thank you, Ann. As Stevie Ray Vaughan eloquently sang, "She's my pride and joy." She's not only both those things but she photograph's so beautifully as well. Cheers, Max

Rick Maxwell replied:
Thank you, John. It has a few years on it but that just adds to its character and wonders. Its not only a beauty but it plays and sounds beautiful as well. Aloha, Max
