Orion constellation. Optical image of the constellation Orion, the hunter. North is at top. At lower left is the star Sirius (Alpha Canis Majoris, the brightest star in the sky. Orion's Belt is formed by the three bright stars in a row just below and left of centre. The bright orange star above and left of the Belt is Betelgeuse (Alpha Orionis). The bright blue-white star below and right of the belt is Rigel (Beta Orionis). At upper right is the zodiacal constellation Taurus, the bull. Near the top right corner is the Pleiades open star cluster (M45). Between The Pleiades and Orion is the bright orange star Aldebaran (Alpha Tauri).
