Description:
This agonizing figure was an art therapy piece for me. She was sculpted in wax on 12 September as I cried while watching the TV the day after the Twin Towers fell in New York City. Two weeks later, at an exhibit in a church, my small work was appreciated by others who were trying to express their emotions at the inconceivable event on September 11, 2001. The title "9-1-1" is not only the date, but refers to the more generic phone number to call for help in the US.
