Description
This piece has been crafted with solid 18K yellow gold wire, 14K and 18K yellow and white gold round beads, 20K waffle texture Afghani resin-core beads and natural gemstone beads in garnet, agate, rhodonite, jasper and yellow jade. The lampwork beads used in this piece are the "Terra Flora" set and focal crafted by Lydia Muell of Ashton Jewels. I was inspired to create the hot air balloon motif when I opened the box containing the focal bead and it was upside-down, with its bulb facing up. As a former clown it appealed to my whimsical nature.
The necklace is 25" long including the curved center section and features a 14K square wire clasp for extra sturdiness. This piece was the first in my balloon series and is absolutely one of a kind. It includes a certificate of authenticity and details of the inspiration behind it.
