Description
Many is the morning that I walk along this trail and the mist from river stretches all the way here. The land along the trail was once the river bottom and that is why it is referred to as bottom land. At the time of the Corps of Discovery, Lewis and Clark could have landed at this spot for the night. Today the river channel is a mile or more to the south and all the land in between is farmed for corn and soybeans. The land is the richest anywhere and the topsoil is over thirty feet deep.
