a perfectly beautiful resting place, this wonderful hand-crafted wooden bench placed underneath a window on the western wall of the Serra Chapel, the beautiful hand made spanish tiles, wonderful spanish construction of the corridor;
this beautiful corridor leads you to the Museum Rooms on the south wing,
(a) the dormitory used to house unmarried women in the Mission's earliest days. (b) the Kitchen - where food was cooked for the padres and their guests.
(c) Pantry - used for food storage. (d) "Resurgum" or entry to the Central Plaza.
The Serra Chapel was constructed in 1782, this is the only original California Mission church still standing in which Father Serra is known to have celebrated the sacraments.
