Description
On the top of the lighthouse, the air is crisp and fresh against my face, and I hear the cries of hungry gulls clearly as they circle together above my head. I watch a single, thin wave steadily grow more and more powerful as it descends upon the shoreline, and then, I watch as it turns into a huge tube of rumbling water and seaweed. It crashes with all it's strength against the beach and lets the contents shoot across the shore. Forever unmoving rocks beneath my feet, stand firmly halfway under glistening sea water, and waves hurl themselves towards them as if trying to rid the ocean of them permanently. Drops of salt water spray up from the impact of the sea slamming onto the rocks, and gently fall upon my cheeks and arms. It then fills the sky with a curtain of salty rain, and as I stand by the balcony and gaze meaningfully off into the distance, I marvel at the sight of the clouds that look like streaks of white paint against the orange and pink pastel coloured sky. As the colours of the evening deepen, I notice how the boats that are silently sitting on the water become perfect silhouettes. Then sadly, the gulls start ignoring my presence and begin to fly away, leaving me to watch, and stand lonesomely on the top of the lighthouse as they gradually become a group of dark specks, gracefully receding off into the horizon.
