Description
Mitchell is a small town of pioneer days located in Eastern Oregon about 9 miles away from the Painted Hills area (part of the John Day Fossil Bed National Monument). The town is situated in a rugged canyon with some impressive rock formation (the Mitchell Rock). Mitchell is called the gateway to the Painted Hills because it’s the only town in the close circumference of the monument’s unit making it a popular stop for visitors in need of gas, groceries, food or accommodations. The entire town was made out of one street; may be two!
Here's what we were greeted with at the entrance to the "business" section of town. You get the idea!

What a funky looking storefront you've found Hany! Nice capture.

Hi Betty; this was at the entrance to the "Business District" in the Town of Mitchel. And I should mention - all other businesses along the same little street looked much worse than this! LOL. Thanks for the visit again Betty and glad you like this. Cheers; Hany

My kind of place! I love it! I just saw the lock. Priceless!
Hany J replied:
Hi Marie; thank you for your visit. I thought this place was quite interesting, especially when it is the first structure to come across when you enter the "business" section of town - LOL. Glad you like it. Many thanks. Hany

Thank you Betty; glad you like this little shack - LOL. I believe it was totally deserted and literally falling apart, but it made for an interesting capture. Many thanks. Hany

Great image of this shack with bags of character.

Can you imagine this was the first thing you see when you enter the "business" section of town? I thought it had lots of character too... Glad you like it Martin. Many thanks. Hany
