Description
I painted my young nephew as a gift for his parents. As I painted, I consulted photos of him, both current and younger, and as the painting began to take shape, I felt like he was visiting with me. His mouth opened as if ready to speak! It was a wonderful, mysterious visit with a loved nephew. The painting was very healing for me.

Hi Susie, It's your sister, the mother of Aaron Patterson. Everyone, Susie's healing through the birth of this painting aided in my healing and everyone who viewed it at his memorial service. It was such a loving surprise. I had an interesting revelation the other day, I decided my love for Aaron hasn't changed I just miss him so. Susan, I absolutely love this portrait of your nephew!!! All of your portraiture is top-notch but this piece is particularly well-rendered. His smile is in his eyes as well as across his cheeks and lips. He looks directly at you and his carriage is confident without being in the least arrogant. You present him dressed casually and the medals he wears about his neck are not mere jewelry but of deep signifacance to this young man. The background hints at the breadth of his psycho-emotional range; integrity, discernment and depth of character are revealed there. I would have liked to have known him. Brilliantly done!!! F, V, L
