Description
"Abandoned Fruitstand in Costa May, Mexico, was painted by Janis Tafoya from a picture I took while in Costa Maya, the stand is about to fall down..the man in the picture has been picking herbs, some for medicinal purposes and others to use in cooking...Many of the people in Costa Maya, Mexico, rely on herbs for medicine and use many for flavoring in cooking...This is a very beautiful country....in this painting the tree was taken from a picture I recently took on a trip to Italy....this tree had many large holes and I thought it would make a lovely home for the squirrels...Please enjoy this piece of art..
My name is Janis Tafoya and I live in Farmington, N.M., and have lived in this area most of my life.
I started painting after retirement and it has become my sole passion...
I love to paint, and use vibrant colors....I paint flowers the most
because I love the color, shading, blending and shapes...I also paint
landscapes, seascapes and am getting into fantasy more and more..
My painting come from my experiences, feelings, and trials in life.
I am an emotional painter, painting from the inside out...I am a
'PAINTER OF EMOTION'.
When I paint it brings a feeling of peace to me.... My hope is that
this peace will transend my paintings and give all who view them also
a moment of peace, since for so many of us the world we live in is
not a very peaceful peace....Thanks for your interest.
