Description:

The Blasket Islands are off the west coast of Ireland. They're abandoned today. The government forced all the people to leave in the 1950's. Yes, they had a very tough life on these little islands out here. But it's still sad to wander through the ruined homes in the town, and imagine the community that once lived here. If you're interested, I highly recommend reading Twenty Years A-Growing, by Maurice O'Sullivan, about his childhood days on the island.
