Across The Way
Photograph - Photograph
This is a photograph I took one late afternoon at my brother's home up on a high bluff overlooking the White river in Indiana. His house stands where an old pioneer town once bustled, yet all traces are gone now. I am looking across to the other side of an old river access place gouged out centuries ago by buffalo herds fording the river at this place. It became a ferry landing..and then the town sprang up. With the railroads...the river travel died and so did the town.
