African Children Gawking For Camera Gishwati Forest Near Lake Kivu Rwanda Africa
Photograph - Prints Or Digital Files
Daytrip into the remnant Gishwati Forest Preserve and Conservation Park where the Great Ape Trust of Iowa is rehabilitating and protecting an isolated band of chimpanzees, golden monkeys and many other species. Happy children of the local mountain-top village give us a whimsical send-off by gawking at the camera. Lake Kivu is in the distance as we are up on the Nile-Congo Divide or the Eastern side of the Great Western Rift Valley. The Democratic Republic of Congo is in the distance on the other (western) side of the lake.
