A good painting of a ballerina who is tired after her dance, very emotional. Great job, from a fellow Canadian.

A warm peaceful feeling comes over me as I study After the Dance. I am working on a commission at this moment, a bronze of a woman sitting in a chair reversed as you have painted this one. A wonderful painting. Thanks, Dan

Very beautifully done Arlene. I love the way you have focused your strong colours on the subect, it indeed brings out a unique and interesting flavor of this wonderful work of art. I especially love the way her hand blends in to her face, marvellously expessing the feeling that one has this moent in time. Thank you for your encuragement my work and for sharing your art work with all of us. Have fun painting Arlene.

Arlene, I haven't commented on this painting previously. I meant to but didn't. I agree with the other artists who have said how VERYLOVELY and meaningful this work is...SHOWING the ballerina after the dance. I know that this is in your "head shot" section but hadn't commented until today. Thanks so much for your comment today about my new entry- "Somewhere on Jupiter II." It was fun.

I've studied ballet for over 15 years and the positioning of this dancer is spot on. Some if they have never studied the art form, don't always hit the mark with the body positioning. This was well done.!

Description:

OIGINAL PAINTING SOLD. The dancer is sitting on a chair. Her head rests on her arms. Her head and arms are at the top of a triangular structure; this gives them more visual weight for the viewer. Her resting arms and head are also emphasized by the contrast with the strong positon of her lower legs and feet. CHECK OUT MY WEBSITE AND SEE MY INTERESTING LINKS. I also sell images of my paintings on products, i.e. keychains.
