Beautiful work, Barbara. Love the eyes. I actually know how this primate gets about and I sometimes have been known to skip sideways with my arms outstretched in the manner of the sifaka. It always gets a laugh!

Description:

This creature lives on Madagascar and is a member of the lemur family but, it's called a sifaka. This particular one is a Verreaux's Sifaka. You probably won't find many of them in any of the zoos in America because there are very few available. They have a very odd way of getting around when on the ground.. it's sort of a hop-skip action that's sideways!
