Akashi Kaikyo Suspension Bridge Of Japan
Fifty five percent larger than The Golden Gate Bridge, the $4.3 Billion Dollar Akashi Kaikyo Bridge represents the pinnacle of bridge building.
It connects the main island near Kobe City with Awaji Island spanning Osaka Bay.
The towers are nearly 1,000 ft tall and it spans nearly 2.5 miles. It is the largest suspension bridge on earth.
It is an engineering wonder of the world. Super concrete and high strength steel were invented just for construction of this bridge. The thousand-foot towers are within a thumb's width tolerance of vertical or it would come crashing down.
It is a super bridge like no other on earth.
