Sculpture - Epoxy Resin
My tribute to the brilliant sculptors who carved in intaglio, in miniature, in metal, the dies from which the Greek city state coins were struck for many centuries. Created in plasticine, taken through a plaster waste mold to produce a master (in the days before cold-pouring rubber), then a flexible mold - finally cast in epoxy. 3.5" (9 cm) diam. Original coin (1.1" diam) was struck in Asia Minor by Lysimachus c 300 BC.
