Description:

When the artist paints a portrait, he reveal much of himself. When he paints a self-portrait, he reveals his narcisscism that he can no longer suppress. The artist sees his studio as a locale that incorporates his very being and therefore he and his studio are mutually inclusive. He sees himself in the portrait that he is painting; in the mirror that he stares at and also in every reflective surface where his brushes are kept.
