Michel... I see the connection now. Thank you. Someday I hope to meet you and share my story of inspiration on my piece...

Michel Verhoef replied:

Thanks C for your most kind words and inspiration :)

I completely agree with the thoughtful comment by Zizi... It is so impressive... Again, you treat the same subject of loneliness in a different scenery but with the same sharpness. I deeply admire your works, Michel; thanks a lot for sharing it!

Thanks Ana for keeping up your support here. It's not even painting ;-) I deeply appreciate the munozian words of the real Master of

Your image made me shiver. To sit alone takes courage. It's an open admission that she has no-one to share a coffee with, yet she is 'protected' slightly because she has her back to us. Sitting there, even if she IS lonely, people might assume she admires the view.....or that she is waiting for a friend to join her. But she has chosen a seat where vertical wood beams appear like bars in front of her, so does she feel imprisoned by a life she hates? And the sea is a long way out & the beach is virtually empty, so does she seek isolation... does she dream of things now beyond her reach......or is the scene simply a reflection of the barren emptiness of her own life.... ? How do you make me think of all of this...with just one seemingly random image? Amazing work!

Thank you very much Roger !! Glad you understood :)

Excellent image, Michel! A finely constructed photograph combined with layers of meaning.

The imagery speaks volumes and the title suits it very well. Taking something so ordinary as sitting on an empty beach and making it tell a story is a wonderful gift to have. Nice work!

The work you do with your photos is outstanding. Each one of them takes me back to reality in a completely different way.Its like you teach a lesson from each and every one of your photos.Wonderful combination of colors, contrasts, figures and backgrounds. Terrific work! Welldone! Im a fan! like/F

I guess in some way all of us are alone, no matter what...this makes me think of that, Michel. Your photos are always very thought-provoking...true art! L/F

Michel - Wonderful capture of this private moment! I love that the woman is warm within the building looking out onto the frozen water. l/f

Michel Verhoef replied:

Thanks Barb :) she is outside, and what you see is sand, and on the horizon there is the sea. Thanks for visiting again :)

Sometimes lonesome is just the right moment, the right spot, the right feeling.

Michel Verhoef replied:

Yeahhh...and it is just me who makes the title...maybe she was sooo happy to be alone for a

Fabulous atmosphere...very expressive Michel!! F/V.

Thank you my dear Theresa for your thoughts on it :)

This really "speaks" to me, Michel. Superb photography. f/v ;-)

Thanks Rosa for these words ! It was a beach cafe terrasse, outside, no roof. The paper on the left table under the ashtray was for me the reason to make this picture, giving it that melancholic mood, as you perfectly understood :))
